About Me

April 13, 2008

Way back in October of 2007 I began the journey into the west – moving myself from Massachusetts to Montana. Why? Good question – if anyone comes up with a solid answer, let me know. My answer is that I felt somehow called here … as if there was a distant song that I heard, and the closer I got, the more clear it became, until I arrived and I found my home.

My first Into the West blog talked about the journey itself – the week-long drive, the discoveries along the way, and then how I settled first into Butte, then into Dillon, and finally realized that after dating Dillon for a time, it just wasn’t going to work out for us. All the posts from that blog will somehow be integrated into some kind of published piece that I’m really looking forward to working with over the next year or so.

The first “into” was a movement toward … and a discovery of what was best for me. This next “into” is a deeper delving … of the place, the people, the life that I’ve chosen. Butte is a mining city – and I’m now doing some mining myself looking for the best that I have to offer. I hope that you find something of value here.

Welcome to your new home. I’ve never seen anybody move so gracefully into a community. We appreciate you and your spirit and work ethic here. Peaceful revolutions, Chad.

Just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you and checked in to see what you were up to. Pam and I took a nice drive over to Wise River yesterday by Elkhorn hot springs then this week we are off a few days and taking the horses back up that way to Blue Creek trailhead and take a day ride and see where we go. The flowers are still out up high. The horse flies aren’t too bad. It was cooler up there also.
No outstanding news like your speaking. Congradulations. You must have had a “growth spurt”. Larry
